"I couldn't have imagined it!" - That's all that comes to my mind when I think about the growth and progress of the school. Year one was a complete success and the love and affection received by the parents was unlike any other.

Going back to the year, as is with any new venture, I was a little unsure if I'll be able to able to successfully run the preschool as I knew right from the beginning that taking care of the little ones is a serious and tremendous responsibility. As I gathered a team of teachers and other support staff under the able guidance of my mentor Mrs Minal Modi and my dear friend Riddhi Vyas, I was able to put together a very nice system in place sooner than previously conceived. I shall forever remain grateful to them for their help and support.

Before I even began my plan, I first wanted to understand what parents look for in a good school. I took many formal and informal surveys from a lot of young parents and safety emerged as the topmost priority for the parents. I was able to understand the plight of the mothers and fathers who knew their children had to go out to school someday and leave the safe nest of their homes. I made it a point that I'll try my best to ensure the transition between home and school will be as smooth as I possibly can make in my school.

Here, Mrs Milloni Kapadiya, my very able and only left hand at the school (I'm lefty :)) for much of the first half of the school year came in with a very carefully planned out first week. Many activities were planned out in promoting bonding exercises between the parents, the teachers and the children and the transition was made as smooth as it could have possibly been. I'll be writing more on settling week and all the theories, practices and benefits surrounding a nicely done settling week in a future blog post.

There you have it, events after events, lesson plans after lesson plans, three field trips, thirty-two big and small events and a grand Annual Day later, the year ended and sure did end with a bang! As this point, I'd definitely ask you to check out our Instagram handle to learn more about the fun and learnings as we have shared a lot it over there! @five_elements_preschool
